BACK TO PLAYING

Hey guys, how are we doing? Yesterday I was able to play in my first game since re-injuring my hamstring two weeks ago. I played three innings in the field and was able to get three at-bats at the plate. Today I played six innings in the field and received three more at-bats. It felt great to get back out there and be able to get through both games without anything bad happening to me. I'm not yet at the point of playing without thinking at all about my hamstring, but we are still only two days into my rehab games. Tomorrow I will be playing DH, followed by nine innings at second base the following day. I'm still not sure exactly when I will be leaving for the regular season, but it pretty much depends on how I am feeling and if I pass all the tests without any problems. I will be sure to let everyone know how things go. Wish me luck!

On a totally different subject, has anyone ever been to this area of Florida before and witnessed "Love bug season"? I'm really not exactly sure if it is only this area of Florida, or all of Florida, or maybe all of the southeast, but I do know it is pretty disgusting. I'm not a big fan of bugs, or snakes, or spiders, or basically any insect, so having a thousand of them flying around and landing on me every three seconds is not one of my favorite moments so far in Florida. Here is a picture of our team bus on the way to our game today.

Pretty disgusting, I know.

Also, since I went a while without being able to do much on the field I decided to design some new cleats online. Let me know if I'll score some cool points wearing these guys when I get back out there.

And before I leave you to watch the Celtics play the Heat, here is a little video of what my reaction might look like it I hurt myself again, although I don't foresee that happening. Enjoy your night!

  2. RIGHT ON! This means that it is time to do some picking for the walk up music?

I have no idea why people live in Florida, Aligators, leeches and I believe every animal is poisonous; even cats and dogs. These bugs just add to the already hostile wildlife. I don't even think Dan Marino lives in Florida anymore, he was Florida's last hope.

  4. Check you out not breaking apart while on the field. Color me impressed! I'd wish you luck but seeing as you told us "wish me luck"..I'm going to skip that part so it doesn't look like I am doing as you say. We're not dogs ya know, no tricks on command. Geez. Instead I'll just say, I hope you don't break apart and things go well! I want things to work out for you. You deserve it.
That freak out is just wrong. Right there is a good reason to not have kids. Look at what they can turn into! Do you really want to be responsible for that?! If his parents put him up for adoption after that, I wouldn't blame them. I hope they washed the remote after they put him up for adoption. Poor remote didn't deserve to be used that way.
Oh, you get 2 cool points for the cleats.

  6. I love that this kid freaks out but doesn't trash the room in costly ways! I wonder what he did that led to Mom cancelling to his WoWC. I've had to be that Mom sometimes. It sucks.
Oh! Hi there Matt: were we talking baseball? Cool! it's good to hear you doing so well! Can you really design your own cleats? Is it tough for you to break in new gear all the time? Hey! I think I'm generating some new questions to ask you, so i'll hop over to Formspring and fire away.
I'm wishing you the best of luck! ~Christine/Las Vegas
