SURGERY

Yesterday I underwent surgery to remove the hamate hook bone from my left hand. A fracture that would not heal had been discovered in my hand and surgery was the best solution to the problem. The recovery time for this procedure is typically 6-8 weeks. I'm looking forward to healing quickly and getting back out on the field.

You have to excuse me in the first two videos, as the medication was definitely working its magic.

  5. Get better, Matt. I'm only slightly disappointed that there wasn't actual video of your surgery; that would have been interesting. Enjoy your PF Chang's.

  6. You should be back soon. Cabrera had the same surgery last year and he made it back fast. Can't wait to see you and the Beavers out here in Vegas to face the 51's. I need to get your autograph. By the way, whats up with the Pats shirt? When you come out to vegas I will give you one of my many Chargers jerseys.LoL. Heal fast and keep the FAITH!

  7. Did they let you keep the bone? I would totally rock that on a necklace if I were you. Looking forward to your continued dominance on the diamond! I think my beer league softball team is going to dedicate tonight's game to your speedy recovery

  9. Hey Matt, it is me, Future Matt Antonelli. I wanted to let you know that you make it just fine from the surgery! Also, in a few months you will begine like the #8 more then the #9.

This is costing me like a million future bucks to send to my past self but I thought it important to let you know. Also in August we hit .381. FYI, on August 18th against Round Rock, we strike out in the 2nd inning, but here is the pitches, fastball, curve, curve, fastball (left out over the plate) this is the one! All the curves are called balls. Also, we become huge fans of the movie White Chicks.
